TAG was originally formed in the early 1990's by John Richardson.

On his return to Scotland after a working life South of Hadrians Wall and involvement with the Roman living history in England and Wales, John noticed that Scotland was without any equivalent groups.

So with the help his wife Rosemary and some other like minded enthusiasts, he decided to form TAG to fill this gap.
