Full membership is available to those with no criminal or serious civil convictions, with a permanent postal address in Scotland. Although general membership is open to all on an equal basis, membership of the military section is only available to males over 18 years of age. Alcohol and drug dependent individuals are excluded from membership.

Members interested in the military section can opt either for Legionary or Auxiliary status and this is entirely a matter of personal choice. The Legionary contingent represents a Vexillation of the Legion VI Victrix PF and the Auxilary contingent represents the VI Cohort of Nervians and the I Cohort of Hamians

It is mandatory for all those participating in the military section to conform to dress code criteria pertinent to the Roman military of the Augustan to Antonine imperial period.
